Mann writes:
“… The property, stock and other effects
of the Canajoharie & Catskill Rail Road Company have been assigned to me as
Receiver under an order of the Court of Chancery. I have been directed and am
required to collect all sums which remain due upon any shares of stock
subscribed for by any of the Stockholders. On examining the books of the
Company I find that there is still due from you on the shares of stock
subscribed for by you, about the sum of One Thousand Dollars, which I shall
require to be paid at my office at the store of Mann & Cookes in the
village of Catskill on or before the first day of February next, or legal
measures will be taken to enforce payment of the same. … John T. Mann,
