Vernacular Photograph Album containing 62 photographs primarily of the Steilacoom, Washington Area, also includes views of other Northwest Coast Beaches and Towns, dated 1901-1912

A very handsome vernacular album, containing high quality photographs, mainly taken by Hart or another family member, there are several studio portraits, plus one real photo postcard. The images are often identified in very neat, calligraphic white ink, naming the location of the shot and also the persons in the image. Mr. Hart is often seen in the photographs.

The album contains approximately 10 photographs of Northilla Beach, in King County, Washington, some dated 1911; 2 images of Magnolia Beach, Seattle; Steilacoom: Silver Beach, Salter's Point, and the Smith cottage, camp site at waters edge, about 25; 2 images of Robinson's Point, dated 1910; Manzanita Beach, Oregon, including a very nice real photo postcard of the Water Carnival, 1911: 3; There are a few shots of riders on the trail to Indian Henry's and Mirror Lake, there are several shots of Defiance Park, Tacoma, among others. The album contains a number of group photographs of family members and friends taken while engaged in camping, swimming and other leisure activities, which identify the names of the participants. They are often titled, such as: "The Inner Harbor," "Camping," the "Bread Line," "Canoeing Party," "the Chaperones," "The Old Bridge" (Steilacoom), "Aboard the Battleship Oregon," snow scenes at Wright Park, plus several studio photographs of a young girl named Margaret Hope Pritchard.

 A very nice vernacular album which documents Washington and other areas of the Northwest at the turn of the twentieth century
